Planetary Traffic Lights for October - Starboard - Leif Erickson Day - NASA - Skull Shaped Halloween Asteroid On Its Way
The Viking Ship Draken Harald Harfagre
Sailing terms are so romantic! Astrologers naturally love the term "STARboard" and may think it has to do with navigating by the stars. But, alas, no. Viking ships were built with a long flanged board on one side that was adjusted to steer the ship.
Starboard is a corruption of the Old Norse word stjόrnborði which became styrbord meaning "steering board" or "steer board." Over time it indicated the side of the ship that had the steering apparatus. Ancient sailors didn't want the steering board scraped off or damaged by the docks, so always approached the piers with the other side of the ship parallel to the port. Thus, we have a starboard side and port side.
October 9th is the official Leif Erikson Day, confirmed by U.S. Presidential Proclamation in 1964 and celebrated before Columbus Day, which is only fitting.
BEST DATES IN OCTOBER
Pick your timing! When starting something important, making key changes, or crucial decisions it is best to examine your own personal transits.
Even so, some days are better than others in the world chart. In general, Green is good, Red means STOP! Yellow means caution......it is just like driving a car.
October 4, 5 October 9, 14, 26, 30 October 21, 23, 24, 25
The first week of October launches with the ugly square of Earth and Saturn peaking on the 1st. Using the 3 day rule of separating aspects we can leave all that ugliness behind on October 4 and 5th, with the Sun and Ceres quincunx gentle and refined Neptune.
The second week of October begins with a New Moon in Libra and the Sun parallel Neptune. Meanwhile,Jupiter and Chiron are forming a trinein the heliocentric dimension that peaks on October 10. However, the Sun and Pluto are in square on the 11th indicating that this is not a good time for new business starts or initiating new projects.
The third week of October is highlighted by a square between Pluto and Ceres that is exact on the 17th.
The last two weeks of October include the Sun opposite eccentric and unpredictableUranus, exact on the 23rd. Acting on an urge to make sudden changes can upset and disrupt the harmony. The Full Moon in Taurus on the 24th is closely tied into this opposition between Sun and Uranus, so normal full moon craziness might be on steroids, sprinkled with cases of technology going haywire or rebellious outbursts. Luckily, Jupiter and Chiron are applying to a benevolent trine in the geocentric system which will be exact on November 1.
NASA celebrates its 60th anniversary on October 1, 2018.
The National Aeronautics and Space Act was passed on July 29, 1958 during Dwight Eisenhower’s presidency. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration became operational October 1, 1958.
Nasa’s website offers space photographs, teaching tools, E-Books, Ring Tones and even a newly developed radio station called Third Rock Radio.
NASA’s chart shows planetary geometry focused on Mars which is highly appropriate since it can represent the bravery and aggression needed for space exploration. The Sun (the motivator of the chart), however, is aligned with Venus (the ability to coordinate), Pallas (the logical Mr. Spock of asteroids) and Juno (the asteroid of inspiration and fantasy) in the declinations.
The Jupiter conjunction to Neptune in this chart gives NASA longevity and the ability to explore the universe wisely.
SKULL SHAPED HALLOWEEN ASTEROID ON ITS WAY
NOTE: This tiny asteroid is NOT likely to have be a dead planet, no matter what the news people choose to say. There is a much better NASA video online.
