Fake News, Fake Views - Planetary Weather of April - May and Stranger in a Strange Land

FAKE NEWS FAKE VIEWS

Fake News

The witch hunt for Russian ties with the Trump campaign and the investigation into White House surveillance of the Trump transition staff has dominated the news.

Juno, the asteroid associated with fantasies, fraud and frivolous pursuits is currently creating a T-Square with the US chart’s Sun and Saturn.

In the chart of a country the Sun represents the executive branch or the President. Juno is mixing up and masking the facts, fraud is running rampant and the media voices opinions rather than facts. This planetary geometry begins to fall apart by April 3rd, but the effects will linger.

In November it was noted in this column, “The Earth is applying to a quincunx to dismal Saturn. This alignment will be applying on Presidential Election Day. The populace might not be happy with the results and accusations of trickery may be fielded.”

That certainly has been the case.

The hypocrisy of the extensive coverage of the Russian investigation might be best seen in light of the sale of U.S. uranium to Russian investors negotiated by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

A 2015 book, Clinton Cash by Peter Schweizer, claimed that the Clinton Foundation accepted handouts from nine individuals connected to Uranium One totaling more than $100 million.

Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich

When Russian ties to the Republican Presidential campaign are highlighted on the news, no sidebar points out the Democratic Party candidate's ties to Russia.

The Fairness Doctrine was eliminated in 1987. This was a policy of the FCC, introduced in 1949, that required broadcasters to present controversial issues of public importance in a manner that was honest, equitable, and balanced.

The Equal-Time Rule, however, is still in effect and specifies that U.S. radio and television broadcast stations must provide an equivalent opportunity to any opposing political candidates who request it. The equal-time rule was created because the FCC beleived that broadcasters could easily manipulate the outcome of elections by presenting just one point of view, and excluding other candidates.

Unfortunately, this is not applicable to daily news coverage, so there is often one-sided, biased coverage of current events.

Journalistic integrity seems no longer relevant in a world where ANYONE can distribute whatever facts, falsehoods and opinions that they wish.

Any person with a computer or a smart phone can voice their opinion and distribute it to hundreds or thousands or even millions of people using Twitter, Facebook, Google, YouTube or other venues. The main broadcast media outlets have reached a stage where they rely heavily on talking heads and interviews to voice opinions and innuendo rather than news. There are websites devoted to disseminating slanted viewpoints for political gain.

The age of propaganda, manipulation of public opinion, and the initial death throes of authentic journalistic ethics apparently coincided with the 5 years that Uranus square Pluto dynamically changed the power basis of broadcasting.

During that time period social media became a major tool that put the power of the pen into the hands of every Tom, Dick and Harriet.

The rise of Islamic Extremist Terrorism has been blamed on online recruiting carried out via social media and online articles.

With the ongoing trine of Saturn, the planet of control, to Uranus, the planet that rules broadcasting, it is possible that people will look at broadcast journalism with a more critical eye. On the flip side, Saturn is a planet that represents selfishness and trickery, and sometimes outright fraud, so it is possible that broadcasting (Uranus) is easily (trine) “used” by the ambitious (Saturn) to further their own ambitions.

In heliocentric this alignment comes to a peak in July 2017. In geocentric this world chart aspect peaked December 24, 2016 and is exact again on May 19 and November 11, 2017.

Juno was conjunct Saturn on January 10, 2017, 10 days before President Trump was sworn into office. Both were aligned with Uranus. Juno and Saturn were conjunct in heliocentric--also while trine Uranus- on February 28, 2017.

Notice these dates coincide with the new U.S. administration taking office.

These two planets together can indicate that trickery was afoot. Juno + Saturn + Uranus = Fake News.

APRIL 2017

April begins on a positive note, but anything and everything that is begun will require diligence and adherence to duty. Juno aspects may delude us into thinking we can live our dreams, but harsh reality will become a riveting factor.

Self discipline, organization and attention to detail will be required. Ethical considerations are an important component of the planetary patterns of April.

Venus is retrograde until April 15. It made the turn retrograde on March 4 while crossing 13 Aries and returns to the very same degree on April 15 when it is once again direct in motion.

venusVenus is important in the month ahead because when it changes direction in April it will be in a hard aspect with Saturn, and Saturn is square Chiron all month long.

April 1- 30 Saturn is in the process of creating an exact square aspect to Chiron on April 30.

April 1- 4 -The first few days of April offer mixed blessings. The Sun is parallel Venus, indicating cheerful sociability, and contraparallel optimistic Jupiter, which is excellent for starting things that will be successful. This is a time when one can expect to be treated fairly and when vision for the future is clear.

Yet the Sun is at the same time square to Juno the asteroid associated with fantasies, fraud and frivolous pursuits.

The FoolJuno also provides a vision of the future that is inspirational in nature but may not be attainable in the real world.

This card In the Rider-Waite Tarot deck labeled The Fool shows a young person on a journey happily unaware of the dangerous cliff at his feet.

April 5- 8 – The Sun is in a T-Square pattern with Jupiter and Pluto. Juno lingers nearby to add some bling to a time period when extremes of behavior and exaggeration can cause disruption and extravagance.

ALL THE EGGS IN ONE SATURNIAN BASKET

April 14 –20 - The planets converge into a distinct pattern as Venus turns direct in motion. By this time Venus is in a hard aspect with Saturn, Sun is trine Saturn. Meanwhile, Mars is and Vesta quincunx Saturn creating a Yod.

With the ongoing wide trine between Uranus and Saturn there are 6 planets in a dynamic alignment with Saturn in Sagittarius. By April 16, when Easter is celebrated, Ceres becomes the 7th egg in the Saturnian basket.

Even retrograde Mercury adds its two cents before the pattern begins to fall apart.

It is a shame that there is no tarot card showing a person with his nose pressed to the grindstone to represent any project begun in this time period.

April 25 – 30 Saturn square Chiron is exact. Saturn is hypercritical, suspicious and exacting while Chiron prefers to get by on charm and good looks. These two planets do not get along well at all. Needless to say the last week of April is an especially negative time to launch any major project, to make new presentations to the public, to make a major commitment, or to take chances that could affect the reputation.

There are some good planetary patterns as well in this time period for study and thinking outside the box.

MAY - Let’s look forward to May when Jupiter quincunx to Neptune is exact in the world chart. It is an alignment that might symbolize what “water brother” means or what the term “grok” is all about.

These are terms explained and contained in Robert Heinlein's classic novel, Stranger in a Strange Land: The Science Fiction Classic Uncut (Hodder Great Reads)

This is the story of Valentine Michael Smith, a young man raised by Martians who must adjust to life on Earth. Incredibly intelligent but incredibly naïve he must learn the concepts of religion, sex, war, and politics that are all alien concepts to his Martian-influenced mind. In his Martian viewpoint water is a powerful symbol, so when he shares a glass of water with the first human woman he encounters, this sharing has profound meaning.

This book provides an objective perspective to life on Earth, exploring the idiosyncrasies of sexual customs and human culture as well as telling a great story peppered with unforgettable characters.

Stranger in a Strange Land is considered one of the greatest science fiction classics of all time.
