Bette Midler was born December 1, 1945. After a bit part in the movie Hawaii Bette Midler headed to New York in the late 60’s and landed a role in Broadway’s Fiddler on the Roof. Thereafter she took a job as an entertainer in the Continental Baths of New York City with Barry Manilow as her accompanist.
She honed her skills in front of towel clad men and went on to star in her own TV variety show specials, a TV sitcom, appeared in major films such as “Beaches” and “The Rose,” toured with her own revues, performed live in Las Vegas and had numerous hit recordings.
She has won four Best Actress Golden Globe Awards, three Grammy Awards, three primetime Emmy Awards, and even a special Tony Award.
This multi-talented entertainer made it to the top through hard work and determination.
