Aug. 21, 2017, the total solar eclipse will cover an area about 70 miles wide in the United States, stretching from Oregon to South Carolina.

This will be the first total solar eclipse seen in the continental U.S. in 38 years. 

This eclipse acts as a cosmic RESET BUTTON and occurs at 29° 53" Leo, separating from a trine to Uranus and quincunx to Chiron.

August has some of the very best and worst world chart alignments.

August 1-10 The Saturn square to Chiron in the heliocentric chart continues to spin forward into exactitude on August 8. Some matters will come to a breaking point. This is not a good alignment to have in the chart of any new enterprise, so wait until after the eclipse to put things into motion.

August 10- 16 Sun trine Saturn on the 13th reminds us to do our duty, remain organized, fulfill obligations and accept limitations.

August 18 - 24 Not only is there a Total Solar Eclipse but the Earth is trine Jupiter on the 21st. There is an opportunity to let the cosmic RESET BUTTON work in our favor. Take advantage of this time to make positive changes, key decisions or simply enjoy an optimistic time when it is easy to set sights on a positive distant future.

August 23 - 31 Dream on. The Sun is trine Juno, asteroid representing fantasy, while the two bodies are also contraparallel in the declinations. This can be a very good time for artists to become inspired, for vacations and visualizing a better future, but perhaps not as good a time for concrete accomplishment in the material world. Write down ideas to use in the future.

Why Donald Trump Is the Man So Many Love to Hate

Last month the U.S. Chart was highlighted here at Ephemera. In that post the U.S. chart’s natal Sun square Saturn was discussed. That was one the least favorable alignments in the U.S. chart.

We also discussed Donald Trump’s chart in 2015 when he was just one of 17 Republican candidates for President and frequently during the election cycle.

Now that he has taken office as President the news is filled with debates about his competency, accusations of collusion with Russia, condemnations of his tweets, attacks on his character, "resist" protests and more.

Many clients have remarked on the unpleasantness and have asked why this president has been so polarizing.

There has been a continual stream of criticism and suspicion aimed at the new President of the United States.

The planet that rules criticism, obstruction and suspicion is Saturn.

Chiron is the planet that rules reputation, charisma and public image.

It should come as no surprise then that the U.S. chart’s Saturn is at the same degree as Donald Trump’s natal Chiron.

During the week of July 17, 2017 the approval ratings for his job as President ranged between 36 % and 43 % according to the top four polling groups. This was one of the lowest approval ratings of any president since these polls have been collated.

Donald Trump’s best natal aspect for a favorable public image and worldwide popularity is a triple conjunction of Chiron, Juno and Jupiter trine Uranus.
