This movie star of Hollywood's Golden Age is an incredible 102 years old. His wife, Anne, is 100 years old. The two have been married since 1954 (65 years!) and had two children together, while actor Michael Douglas is a son from Kirk Douglas’s previous marriage.

What explains the longevity of this couple? Kirk Douglas doesn’t have the usual signatures of a long life that are denoted by strong Neptune natal aspects.Neptune rules longevity. The answer seems to be found in the aspects between their two charts.

These are good days in general for natalizing something of great importance. Some days are better for love and some are better for money. However, remember that your own chart is always the most important consideration.

For instance, if you have a birth planet at 4.7 degrees of north or south declination that planet will enjoy the enhanced positive energy from the transiting parallel of Venus and Chiron that is exact on September 7. This means that September 7 might be an especially good day for you depending on which planet in your chart is involved.

However, if you have a birth planet at 14 -15 degrees Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn you might be affected by a frustrating aspect from Saturn and this changes the picture considerably for you. That good day listed on September 7 might not be quite as good for you as for other people.

Saturn conjunct Pluto - January 2020

As this is being written a tropical storm has become Hurrican Dorian and is building up steam.The conditions are ripe for it to become a larger hurricane. However, it could still slow down or fall apart. It may hit the Florida coast or the Georgia coast. It may veer off to the north after it makes landfall or cross the Florida panhandle towards the Gulf Coast.

The thing about hurricanes is that they are unpredictable. They could cause a great deal of damage or merely become another name in the history book. The same goes for astrological predictions. Conditions can be ripe for devastation or problems, but that doesn't mean any notable events will occur.

The soothsayers of the world have not been saying very soothing things about the alignments of January 2020. Financial forecasters have been predicting everything from a recession to a stock market crash to a war.

When retrograde Saturn changes direction and stations direct this month on September 18 it will begin its non-stop journey on a direct collision course with Pluto in Capricorn which completes on January 12, 2020.

Lucky for us, conjunctions don’t represent actual planetary collisions! Conjunctions represent an intensification of the qualities of the planets involved. Therefore, conjunctions can be helpful if there is trine from another planet but can be troublesome when they are part of turbulent planetary alignments.

Intensifying the qualities of cold, calculating, controlling Saturn while it is running in tandem with ruthless, power-hungry Pluto can’t be good.

Right after the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse of January 10, 2020, there will be a pileup of planets at 22 degrees Capricorn when the Sun, Mercury, Ceres, Saturn and Pluto (that's a lot of planets!) are conjunct on January 12 and January 13.

All these planets will square Eris, a dwarf planet way out there at the edge of our galaxy that is considered a financial planet in Magi Astrology. In the heliocentric dimension, Eris and Venus will simultaneously create a T-square to Earth, Ceres, Saturn and Pluto. Ceres and Pluto are financial and business planets making those areas a theme.

If this isn’t enough to make you sit up and take notice the Sun will be parallel both Mars and Saturn on January 13.

• Meanwhile Saturn and the Earth are parallel in the latitudes although this aspect is not exact until February 12. However, it sets a tone of negativity and grimness that will envelope the entire world, an outlook that has been in process since July 2019. Like a frog placed in cold water on a stove top, the gradual heating up of the water isn’t noticed until it is far too late, and things come to a boil.

Here’s the thing, folks - forewarned is forearmed so there is no reason to be paralyzed by fear due to an upcoming set of potentially nasty world aspects. The sky isn’t going to fall although the cosmic weather will be turbulent.

Hurricanes often veer off course in unpredictable ways, so there is a good chance that very little will happen. Therefore, the solution is to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

One can be proactive and batten down the hatches before the storm. My private clients have had advance notice of these alignments over the past year as personal strategies have been discussed and developed. For example, be conservative with investments so you aren’t left vulnerable to a major market downturn. Plan carefully, so it isn’t necessary to begin anything of crucial importance in that December - January – February time frame that will lock in the negativity. 

The good news is that when the Spring Equinox of 2020 arrives Saturn will officially be in Aquarius while tolerant and generous Jupiter will be traveling alongside Pluto to reward us for being patient.
