MERCURY TURNS RETROGRADE on JULY 26

Anyone who studies traditional astrology will at some time or other hear that Mercury retrograde periods create communication breakdowns, clerical mistakes and are terrible times for signing documents or agreements.

Did someone forget to tell the document signers below that Mercury was Retrograde?

The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776 and after more than 200 years is still a functioning agreement. The chart for July 4, 1776 has Mercury retrograde at 24 degrees Cancer.

The European Union was founded November 1, 1993 while Mercury was retrograde.

The NAACP was founded on February 12, 1909, with Mercury retrograde.

Planets appear to move more slowly when they are nearing a change of direction, offering time to understand the meanings of their influence more fully (if that retrograde planet happens to align with your own chart). This is the reason that traditional astrology considers planets in retrograde to be more introspective in influence.

It is possible that a retrograde planet is a good thing.

In any case, planets do not move backwards in the solar system—retrograde motion is only a trick of the eye from our perspective on earth.

In July seven planets will be in retrograde motion.

The Sun and Moon never appear retrograde, so the only major planet that is NOT retrograde in July will be Venus.

Between July 4 - July 10 there will be six major planets retrograde at the same time (plus asteroid Vesta which is ALSO retrograde until August 1).

July 27 - The Longest Lunar Eclipse Of The Century?

THIS ARTICLE calls this month's Lunar Eclipse the Longest of the Century

Should that article be renamed, “the second longest eclipse of the century?”

Is the year 2000 part of this century?

A STORY at NASA’s website notes that the Total Lunar Eclipse of June 16 2000 was the longest of Saros Cycle 129.

It lasted one hour and 46.4 minutes, which is just shy of the maximum possible time for a lunar eclipse – one hour and 47 minutes. Here is another reliable article about the July 2000 eclipse.

The Total Lunar Eclipse of July 27 2018 will last one hour and 43 minutes, not quite up to that high mark.

One thing that is agreed upon is that the Moon will appear to be RED and that this is a very long eclipse. The Moon will be at approximately 4.8 degrees Aquarius, just separating from a conjunction with a retrograde Mars, and both the Moon and Mars will be opposite the Sun. This setup might provoke a few hot tempers and belligerent tirades. Emergency rooms, be prepared.

Dr. Oz Promotes Astrology?

This TV doctor promoted Sun Sign astrology.

"For centuries, we have used astrological signs to examine our personality and how we interact with those around us, however, these signs may reveal a great deal about our health as well. Discover what your astrological sign can tell you about your health."

This segment did not mention the significant benefits of scientific astrology.

Choosing the best time to see a new doctor, have elective surgery or begin a new medication is important. Planetary energies can help or hinder your health and choosing the best timing requires a knowledge of all the planets and their interactions with the birth chart. The sign of your Sun at birth is a very small factor. Real astrologers use many more tools.
