MULTI-DIMENSIONAL ASTROLOGY

One dimension is a line. Two dimensions are a drawing on a sheet of paper. Three dimensions occur when there is volume.

The space around the Earth, the Sun and the solar system is much like a shere or a bubble, so it has volume.

Geocentric and heliocentric refer to the types of systems.  Within those systems one will find longitude and declinations or latitudes.

To find a location on a road map or GPS one needs both longitude and latitude. New York City  is at Longitude 73'59" W and Latitude 40'46" N. If you go to NYC to visit someone you may use GPS coordinates to get to the door, but then will need to know which FLOOR that person is on, too.

Space has volume. Space is three dimensional although astrology charts  on paper are two dimensional. Longitude  in astrology can be in geocentric or heliocentric and describes sections of space looking outward from the earth or the Sun. There are also declinations and latitudes that measure distance above and below the horizon.

When Captain Kirk was asked,

“Course heading, Captain?”

his response was not ,

"head for 3 degrees Scorpio."

The pilot would also need to know where the planet was up or down within the humongous swath of space that is designated as 3 degrees of Scorpio. That pilot would also need to know how many miles to travel because space has volume.

Longitude and declination (or latitude) mark the spot, like the grid seen within a rifle sight. Every marksman knows that to hit a target you must also gauge the distance to the target.

The iconic spacefarer Captain Kirk was played by William Shatner, an indomitable soul whose birth chart is shown here. Born March 22, 1931, the natal chart of the 88 year old actor indicates the potential for longevity with the natal Sun quincunx Neptune, the planet of longlasting durability.

His natal Sun trine Mars, the planet of virility, danger and soldiers, shows his natural aptitude for playing the brave and brash leader of the U.S.S. Enterprise. Notice that Juno is part of that Mars trine, too; Juno stirs the imagination and inspires, which is apt for a character who “went where no man has gone before.”

Mars and Jupiter are parallel in the upper declinations, adding a sense of adventure and penchant for exploration necessary for a character who heads to “space...the final frontier.”

His popularity and appeal to the public in “Star Trek” movies as well as in starring roles in TV’s “T.J. Hooker” and “Boston Legal” is obvious thanks to natal Venus contraparallel Chiron. William Shatner’s Venus in quincunx to Pluto helped this once struggling actor prosper when the timing was right.  

Perhaps in the future astrologers will discover the planetary ruler of transporters and can explain, in astrological terms, "Beam me up, Scotty."
