Astrology developed because ancient man needed to predict the seasons.

The beginning of each season marks a crucial turning point.

Each season begins while the Sun is in a Cardinal sign. The fourth of these Cardinal signs is Capricorn.

The longest day of the year occurs in December when the winter solstice takes place and the Sun is in Capricorn.

But, don't get depressed and gloomy! This is good news!

Once this turning point occurs the days begin to grow longer.

The winter solstice is a time of celebrations such as Christmas and, in most cultures, gift-giving. It is time to enjoy the fruits of our labors and self-discipline.

Capricorn in traditional astrology is associated with the tenth house and the outer shell that is seen by others. It is the zodiac sign that represents the life as lived in the outer world; career, striving for excellence, and public reputation.

Saturn is the traditional ruler of Capricorn. In traditional astrology it is called the great teacher and represents the harsh tests of life.

Saturn is the planet associated with structure, organization and ambition.

Magi Astrologers differentiate between Saturn in a birth chart and Saturn in a transiting alignment to a natal planet. As a transiting planet it represents hardship and problems, and is considered the "bad boy" of the planetary lineup, but in a birth chart it is necessary.

To succeed we must "cimb every mountain" and strive to reach the peak of perfection.

In a birth chart, Saturn symbolizes structure such as teeth and bones.

Without teeth to chew and bones to hold us erect we would be simple jellyfish.

It is only sensible and practical to accept Saturn as a key component of our birthcharts.

Saturn symbolizes experience and the solid credentials brought to the table via a certification, degree or diploma. Those are things used to build and structure a career and public image.

Saturn is symbolic of lessons learned and tests passed. It also represents self-discipline, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to bring order to a chaotic world.

No one becomes an expert without hard work, discipline, and practice. That is probably why some wise person said:
