Dolly Parton, born January 19, 1946, was a glorious example of Sun and Venus square Jupiter; kind, generous, and positive, with big hair, big chest, and big presence.

Her natal Sun and Venus were also square Juno, the glamorous spell casting asteroid that inspires, beguiles, and pretends that rhinestones are as beautiful as diamonds. Parton explained in her 2021 memoir, “Songteller” that she embraced wigs “because I wanted to look like the dream I carried in my head.” Juno created that big dream of sparkling glamor, but Jupiter ensured it was all for fun.

She once said, “I am a workhorse that looks like a show horse.” Behind all the glitter and rhinestone tat was a hard working talented person who always showed up on time and honored her obligations as shown by the natal Mars Saturn conjunction. Her progressed Sun was square that Saturn/ Mars conjunction, part of a natal Grand Cross, when she left us on August 25, so she had hard times, too. We will always love her.

Jupiter is trine Saturn in heliocentric this month, September 2026, just completing the trine in geocentric, so perhaps there is a teaching moment (Jupiter) from the past (Saturn) in the life of a September born birthday icon.

He has been gone since 1991 but is not forgotten. Freddie Mercury, songwriter and lead singer of the band Queen, would have turned 80 years old on September 5, 2026. He led a magical, albeit short, creative life and left behind a catalog of rock anthems.

Although his flamboyant on stage persona and his tragic death from AIDS contributed to his fame, his voice has been described by experts as “the best in rock history.”  Freddie was born when Chiron was trine to Uranus and that contributed to his celebrity but the Saturn/Chiron midpoint conjunct his Sun may have led him to make the choices that ended his life.

Queen’s music could be the biggest generator of “ear worms” in the pop music world. Arena rock hits such as “We are the Champions,” “We Will Rock You,” “Another One Bites the Dust, “and the one of a kind “Bohemian Rhapsody” instantly come to mind …..and then stay there, sometimes for days.

Jupiter || Chiron || Vesta in the declinations enhanced Freddie’s Mercury’s attractiveness as part of a group (Vesta). His love of fashion and luxury was reflected in the triple conjunction of Jupiter, Venus and Juno. The highly creative side of Freddie Mercury can be best seen in the heliocentric chart where Earth is in trine to inspiring Juno and quincunx success driven Pluto. He also had a dream "carried in his head" of being a rock star and made it a reality.

 Fun fact - According to Wikipedia, Mercury designed the band's logo, known as the "Queen crest.” The logo combines the zodiac signs of the four band members: two lions for John Deacon and Roger Taylor (sign Leo), a crab for Brian May (Cancer), and two fairies for Freddie Mercury (Virgo) with the whole logo over-shadowed by an enormous phoenix.
