Zooey Deschanel was nominated for a Golden Globe Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series in the Comedy or Musical category for her appearance as the star of “New Girl.”
It is a quirky, offbeat situation comedy that defies logic, if not reality, since a young single woman has three young single men as roommates, and the scripts are extremely lightweight feel-good fare, but the TV series New Girl starring Zooey Deschanel seems to have become a hit.
Zooey Deschanel’s character almost seems to channel Marlo Thomas’s ditzy 60’s performance as the innocent “That Girl” but adds a twist by occasionally breaking into song.
In addition she has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media, for a song from the Disney film Winnie the Pooh. Zooey Deschanel not only composed the song “So Long” but also performed the award nominated piece. The winners of the Grammy Awards will be announced February 12, 2012.
Zooey Deschanel was born on January 17, 1980. The pilot episode of “New Girl” aired on September 20, 2011.When we compare these two charts we can see that transiting Chiron was conjunct Zooey’s natal Venus as this new TV sitcom launched.
